September 10th is a magic night!!!
Julie Eng presenting – Magic Reflections The September Lecture for the Hat and Rabbit Club will feature a topic near and dear to Julie: reflecting on the many lessons in magic from her own unique perspective in magic as a daughter of a magician. She will share some routines from her father’s repertoire and some from her current collection of favourites. Along the way, she will also impart valuable lessons and stories she has earned working as an assistant to other magicians, to selling magic, to working as a corporate entertainer and as a teacher of magic. Always a student of magic, Julie will also share some of her strategies and struggles working on magic and will share some practical tips and tricks that have allowed her to grow and learn as a student. James Alan, a talented young Toronto magician, specializes in classical sleight of hand. He is also the host and producer of Friday Night Magic - Toronto's only regular magic show open to the public, now in its sixth season. Currently James works with Magicana helping to organize its community outreach pro-grams for children and seniors, My Magic Hands and Senior Sorcery. Opening the Canadian Double Lecture, James will bring a fresh look at some often over-looked gems in some classic books on magic, showcasing effects from magic’s past masters like Leipzig and Vernon.
